“Anti-Trafficking Policy and Sex Workers Human Rights: A Close Look from the Front Lines”
The SWANS Building Inclusive Communities with Sex Workers Conference 2018 is dedicated to providing education and information to service providers, police services, community members, sex workers and allies on the impacts of the Anti-Trafficking legislation, policies and approaches and the conflation of sex work, human trafficking and exploitation. Sex Worker Organizations from Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and Sudbury will be presenting on the issues, their efforts in working with community to improve access to safety, services and supports for sex workers, what is working and what we need to continue to improve. It is fundamental that sex workers and sex work organizations be involved in consultation and collaboration when it comes to talking about sex workers lives, addressing violence and exploitation in the sex industry, and creating safer communities that are inclusive and respectful of human rights.
Anyone who is committed to creating safer spaces and inclusive communities with and for sex workers are strongly encouraged to attend.
Continental Breakfast, refreshments and lunch will be provided. Please email with any dietary and/or accessibility accommodations you may require.
The Clarion Hotel is a fully accessible space.
